Ugly Dog Hunting began its journey in 2000 as the brainchild of Terry Wilson and Nancy Anisfield. Inspired by the antics of their beloved German Wirehair, Scrub, and other bird dogs, they developed a catalog company dedicated to providing top-notch gear for bird hunters and dog trainers across the 
country. Fueled by their passion for the outdoors and a commitment to quality, Ugly Dog Hunting quickly became a trusted name in the upland hunting community.
In 2023, they passed the torch to Mike Neiduski, a seasoned bird dog owner and avid hunter, who took the reins as the sole owner and operator. Inspired by his first wirehair, Plexi, Mike continues the brand’s longstanding legacy of excellence. Today, Ugly Dog Hunting stands at the intersection of serious and silly, celebrating the bond between hunters and their dogs while providing reliable gear for their adventures in the field.

From its beginnings as a mail-order catalog operation, Ugly Dog Hunting has evolved into a thriving online retail outlet, catering to hunters and trainers of all levels. In 2016, we made the leap to digital, streamlining our operations to better serve our customers in the digital age.

Meet Our Team
Mike Neiduski is the heart and soul behind Ugly Dog Hunting. As the Owner/Operator, he brings over a decade of experience training, testing, and hunting with bird dogs. With a background in higher education and conservation non-profit fundraising, Mike is dedicated to taking Ugly Dog Hunting to new heights while honoring the legacy built by Terry and Nancy.
Passionate about conservation and perpetuating the bird hunting lifestyle, Mike holds a Senior Judge appointment with the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) and actively supports various conservation initiatives. With his trusty sidekick, Mack, a German Shorthair, by his side, Mike is always ready for the next adventure in the field. He also has a puppy on the way.
