Sixty-eight hours is plenty for a day hunt. It’s not always enough for a four-day pheasant trip to South Dakota, a week in the Nebraska sandhills, or a coon camp where you’re running dogs every night.

The Garmin TT25 and T20 Extended Life Battery Pack replaces the standard battery unit with a larger cell that doubles your collar’s runtime. On dynamic tracking you go from 68 hours to 136 hours on a single charge — or up to 168 hours at a 2-minute update interval. Run multiple dogs over multiple days and never worry about a collar dying at the worst possible moment.

The swap is designed to be done in the field. Six screws around the edge of the collar, alignment guides to help seat the connector, a fresh gasket included to maintain the IPX7 waterproof rating. The whole process takes about five minutes. If you ever wrestled with changing batteries in other collars, you’ll appreciate how much Garmin improved this, it just drops in.

One caveat worth knowing: the extended battery is physically larger and heavier than the standard pack — about 3.2 oz of added weight. Best suited for medium to large breeds. On a small dog or a light-framed breed, stick with the standard battery or consider the Zero Length Flex Band configuration to keep the collar proportional to the dog.
