The Alpha 10 is Garmin’s entry in the Alpha tracking and training lineup. Smaller than the 300. No onboard maps. Not a personal GPS device. What it is: a dedicated dog unit that does tracking and training in a package that fits your vest pocket without weighing you down.

Range is up to 9 miles with a 2.5-second update rate. Multi-GNSS support pulls from both GPS and Galileo satellites, which helps in terrain where GPS alone drops out. Draws and heavy timber will still test it, but it holds better than GPS-only units.

On the training side: 18 levels of continuous and momentary stimulation, plus tone and vibration. That range covers first-season puppies through seasoned dogs that run big.

The Garmin Explore App pairs over Bluetooth so you can view real-time dog tracks on your phone and replay where the dog worked after the hunt. Useful for self-training sessions and reviewing how a dog covered a field.

What the Alpha 10 is not: it will not replace a personal handheld. No topo maps, no route planning, no satellite imagery. If you need those in your dog handheld, look at the Alpha 300. If you want your dog’s location on your wrist, the Alpha 10 pairs with the Garmin Instinct 3 and the fenix 8 series.

Compatible with T20 collars (training only) and TT25 collars (tracking and training). This is the handheld unit only. Collars sold separately.
